The Department of Aeronautical Engineering established in 2020, is dedicated to training and nurturing the next generation of aviation innovators. It offers comprehensive academic pathways, featuring an undergraduate (UG) program with an upgraded annual intake of 90 students starting in 2026, and a specialized postgraduate (PG) program launched in 2023 with an intake of 12. The curriculum focuses on the research, design, manufacturing, and testing of aircraft within Earth’s atmosphere. Students explore critical aerodynamic elements—such as lift, drag, airfoils, and control surfaces—while building deep expertise in aircraft structural design, propulsion, and guidance and control systems.
Theory meets practice in state-of-the-art laboratories, including the Aero-Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Aerodynamics, Aircraft Structures, Propulsion, and CAD/CAE labs. Mentorship is provided by highly qualified faculty from premier institutions like IITs, NITs, and government bodies, all possessing rich research and academic backgrounds. Beyond academics, a vibrant student ecosystem thrives through the student-run Aerocious forum, which hosts expert guest lectures and workshops, and the active Drone Club, where students build and innovate with UAV technology. Cultivating a strong research culture, the department motivates students to publish papers and present at national and international conferences. This focus provides invaluable opportunities to network with industry professionals and stay ahead of emerging aviation trends.
